If you received this link, you've no doubt known Nick for some time, and during that time, you've inevitably heard him talk about the art he makes, and the website he's been thinking of building ... and now, after 20+ years, it's finally here! Hopefully, it was worth the wait. Grab yourself a drink and check out the new site with him.
Let's see some art, shall we?
The first piece in the launch collection is resurfacing from 2023. It's a collection of photos from my travels that I think signifies what I make pretty well. It's also the centerpiece of my marketing campaign, "My Art Looks Like Shit On Your Phone (dot com)" Of course, I couldn't leave Lexington out of the launch, so the next piece is The Victorian Square, which is made from some photos of one of my favorite places in my hometown. Then we have Lake Blues and Murky Values, a one-texture piece that I really enjoy. Don't tell anyone, but it's a picture of some bacon grease on some crumpled foil — this is what I mean when I say "anything can be art!"
Speaking of places that feature heavily in my art, I have to shout out the DC-Maryland-Virginia area. Out of the 1,100+ textures that are currently in my database, most than 30% are from the place where I spent the past 12 years living. These pieces reflect and preserve some of my favorite Maryland memories: The Edge Of Something is a collection of photos from the inaugural "Summerfest" celebration when I was working for the City of Gaithersburg. Reduce, Reuse, Restrain is a piece taken from one of my many trips to the county dump as a homeowner (again ... art is everywhere lol). Meanwhile, Chamfered Orbit is from one of my many walks along the gorgeous Northwest Branch trail, which cuts through Silver Spring and makes it so incredibly easy to forget that you're smack in the heart of one the biggest suburbs in the US.
Finally, to round out the Launch Day collection, we have a couple pieces that I picked just because of how different I feel like they are — in Artist Series - A night walk in a San Salvador cactus patch, I tried to capture what it might be like if Salvador Dali made a piece in my style, using textures I took from my oven door and a car wash. In Rime of a Future Mariner, I kicked off my Open Access Collection by combining landscape photos with assets from the Met and the Swedish Historical Museum in order to create something new from things that happened before I even existed. It's currently featured in my campaign I'm calling "AI can't make this." Similarly, Monedas is an exploration of historical coins and bills from the early days of Uruguay's independence.

That ... is the reason I built this website, after all. I'm not gonna lie to you — I've put a lot of long hours and emotional work into this. Years of introspection. Coding. Therapy. These pieces all reflect a little bit of the things that you like about me, and you putting my art on your walls enables me to keep making it. If none of these pieces are your thing, maybe there's something else you like in the store? At the time of writing this, I have prints available for 25 of my 103 pieces. Surely there's something.
